Annual event at Lancaster Airport. The Cold War Air Museum joins the DFW Commemorative Air Force wing for its open house and fly-in with multiple aircraft on display.

Cleburne, TX

[edit] 2010, June 25th, 26th — Ada Air Expo

CWAM sent its Mi-2, Mi-24 and 7 volunteers to Ada, Oklahoma for the Annual Ada Air Expo. The event was well attended by the locals and the host's hospitality was, as usual, great! The theme of the show this year was to honor 100 years of women in aviation. Many female pilots performed aerobatics. In addition to a number of aerobatic performers, the show included numerous R/C aircraft demonstrations, skydivers, gliders, formation flights, and AcroRace Aerobatics.

[edit] 2010, June 20th — Fathers Day at Lancaster Airport

The museums will be open 11AM to 5PM for Father's Day. Several hundred people attended the open house event last year.

[edit] 2010, June 11th to 13th — Summer Balloon Fest at Midway Airport

Nearby Midway airport is home to the Summer Balloon Extravaganza. Visit the Summer Balloon Classic web page for current information and schedule. CWAM sent a Chang, Mi2 and Mi24 to Midway for static display.

[edit] 2010, May 8th — Corsicana Fly-in

CWAM sent Mi-2 helicopter bord 211 and a CJ-6 to Corsicana By all estimations, the event was well attended and a great success. In a completely unplanned happenstance, the newly flying Mi-24 made its first non-Lancaster appearance when it landed in Corsicana to drop off freshly charged batteries for the Mi-2.

CWAM was very happy to host the spouses of the 99's at the Lancaster Museum.

[edit] 2009, Sunday, June 21st — Fathers Day at Lancaster Airport

Several hundred people are expected to visit an open house hosted by both museums on Fathers day this year. The Tram will be running between the museums during the event which is scheduled to open at 11AM and close at 5PM.

[edit] 2009, June 19th through 21st, Friday through Sunday, ; Summer Balloon Fest at Midway Airport

Nearby Midway airport is home to the Summer Balloon Extravaganza. In addition to balloon events, this year there will be an aerobatic demonstration team of T28's on Saturday. Further information is provided below, or see the Summer Balloon Classic web page for up to date information and a schedule. Mi-2 and Chang flying in for static display.

Every Saturday. We encourage families to visit. A local group scheduled a pre-fathers day event including a museum tour.

Museum Bord LN joined 17 other aircraft and hundreds of ground vehicles honoring Medal of Honor recipients at this annual event.

The Fall Pack and Fly has been moved to join the event happening in Muskogee Oklahoma (KMKO).

A Cub Scout Pack from Armstrong Elementary visited the museum.

Museum Aircraft will be attending the Alliance Air Show.== May 3rd — Comanche Fly-in at LNC ==

Museum aircraft will be flying out to the North Texas Regional Airport Air Show at Grayson County. Air Boss Bruce Huddleston, 580-436-2803.

The Cold War Air Museum will be open and aircraft will be on display in conjunction with the CAF Open Cockpit Day.

The 6000+ attendance event was opened by L-39 Bord 107 in formation with two P-51D Mustangs. The AN-2 brought it's own shade.

Red Star Pilots Association fly-in and formation clinic at Lancaster.

Primarily a fly-in for CJs and Yaks. Guest speaker Saturday night will be Gail Peck, former commander of the 4477th Test Squadron that secretly flew MiGs over the Tonopah Test Range in the Western U.S. desert in a program called Constant Peg.

Museum staff will be visiting the Dallas FSDO for their open house between 10am and 4pm. Contact: Susan Traugott

[edit] 2008, May 17th — Armed Forces Day — Wings Over Grand Prairie

We honor all those who have served our country at the "Wings Over Grand Prairie" fly-in on Armed Forces Day. The event will be held at Aviator Air Centers at the Grand Prairie Airport.

Two Nanchangs will be representing the museum.

Both museum CJ-6As went to the fly-in, which was well attended.
