The Cold War Air Museum (CWAM) has many aircraft that are looking for Champions or Sponsors to get and keep them flying.

MiG-21UM Sponsor Needed

CWAM has a MiG-21 (two seater) that needs a Champion. This aircraft was the best on the ramp chosen from the Bulgaria airbase in 2005. This aircraft has been assembled and the engine has been started on multiple occasions. The aircraft is in need of a number of major system inspections or overhauls but is in very good shape. The aircraft has been stored indoors since arriving in the USA. Rather than selling this aircraft, CWAM would rather give the aircraft to a Champion/Sponsor in return for housing it at the CWAM facility at least 10 months per year. CWAM has a number of MiG-21 parts and contractors available with MiG-21 experience. Please no tire kickers.

L-29 Delfin Sponsors Needed

CWAM has a number of L-29 Delfins that are in need of serious Sponsors. CWAM has four (4) assembled and two (2) certified flying L-29s. In addition, CWAM has three (3) L-29s in shipping crates in need of direction. Flying these jets requires an L29 FAA Experimental Rating and CWAM can help facilitate preparation and examiners. Please no tire kickers.

Mi2 Hoplite Sponsors Needed

CWAM has three MIL Mi-2 Hoplites that are in need of serious Sponsors. Two of the Mi-2s have airworthiness certificates and the third should have a certificate soon. These dual turbine helicopters are certified to be flown by a Private FAA Helicopter Pilot but additional CWAM requirements exist to qualify as PIC on the CWAM insurance policy. Please no tire kickers.

Nanchang CJ-6A Sponsors Needed

CWAM has a Nanchang CJ-6A that is in need of Sponsors. Please no tire kickers.
